Quality care and guardianship is essential to you and your alpacas' success and should be the number one priority for an alpaca business. At HaSu Ranch, we take this seriously. We care for all animals in our charge, as if they were our own, providing the optimal environment for their physical and emotional health. We call it the Heart and Science of Quality Breeding and it is the foundation of our Animal Husbandry. Because we are full-time alpaca farmers, we're able to provide full-time, around the clock care and supervision.
At HaSu Ranch, our facilities and our practices have been designed to ensure excellent health, birthing, protection, and fleece production for every alpaca. Our barn is equipped with a computerized video monitoring system, a heated veterinarian room, heated waterers, individual stalls, if needed, and easy access, in and out for the alpacas. We provide separate pastures for males, pregnant females, and moms with crias, giving special attention to the needs and personalities of the alpacas that are grouped together. And each pasture provides direct access to a sheltered area within the barn.

Daily boarding fee of $3.00 per animal

Marketing, for an additional fee, is available for owners who wish to have HaSu market their animals

The HaSu Boarding policy provides top-notch veterinarian care. Our attending veterinarian, with years of Camelid experience, is on call 24 - 7. And our ranch is conveniently located near the prestigious Cornell Animal Clinic. The boarding fee includes routine veterinary care; including vaccinations, weighings and toe nail trimmings. And if needed, special feeding arrangements can be provided for your alpaca. We use a state-of-the-art Herd Management application, custom designed by BreedWorks, to track individual alpaca health and maintenance records. Detailed monthly reports, either electronic format or hard copy, are provided for all boarding clients.
We feed locally grown hay, which we test regularly to ensure appropriate mineral and protein levels, and daily alpaca pellet supplementation top dressed with a mineral mix. And there is always fresh water available.
At HaSu we welcome owner participation in the care of their animals and encourage them to participate in farm events, vet visits and routine daily care. Because we are committed to your success, we also offer show support by providing transportation of boarded animals to the shows we attend, and shared stalling with our animals. HaSu Ranch, sitting atop a mountain in the Western Catskills, is conveniently located 12 minutes off of I 88 in central New York. We are just a few miles from some of the country's most historical attractions. So you can always combine a visit with your alpacas with an assortment of activities - from canoeing to museum viewing. If you're not set up to board your alpacas yourself, or would simply prefer someone else to provide the daily care, HaSu Ranch can do it for you. |
